Sisters of St. Martha's Congregation (SMC)

It is a congregation of the Syro-Malabar Church and started in the eparchy of Pala and it is an institute of eparchial right."The son of man came Not to Be served but to serve and to give his life a ransom for many". (Mt.20:28) These words of jesus Christ are the inspiration and motto of the congregation and they are doin the humble service in the society especially for women and children. There are 265 professed sisters and 5 novices in the congregation working in 13 Syro-Malabar Eparchies in India.

 With the ardent zeal for the service of the people of God in the mission eparchies, the sisters of st. Martha's Congregation came to the eparchy of Ujjain in 1977. At present the congregation has got 4 house in the eparchy. The sisters are engaged in the various apostolic activies of the eparchy such as education, care of the poor children, printing press, tailoring institute, a stall for religious books and pious articles and village apostolate.
